Description
Polaroid Onestep Camera Ornament Old World Christmas. The Polaroid company got its start in 1937 selling polarized sunglasses. In 1944, Polaroid’s founder Edwin Land was taking a photo of his 3-year-old daughter. She asked her Dad why she couldn’t see the picture. Land was excited by this idea, a camera that could produce the picture on the spot. Land took this idea to his team back at Polaroid to work on.
Dimensions: 3.25 X 2.25 X 1.25 (HxLxW)
Each figurative glass ornament produced by Old World Christmas is handcrafted in age-old tradition using the same techniques that originated in the 1800s. Molten glass is mouth-blown into finely carved molds made exclusively for Old World Christmas before a hot solution of liquid silver is poured inside. The ornaments are then hand-painted and glittered in a series of labor-intensive steps to achieve the beautiful creations.
