Tips from Elf Susan, Lead Designer Leave a comment

If you’re looking for ideas for fall decorating, St. Nick’s is your ideal source for both do-it-yourself projects or, better yet, purchasing wreaths and custom arrangements put together by a top-tier expert. Susan Aguilera has been with St. Nick’s for 7 years and is an endless source of inspiration for centerpieces for your dining area or wreaths that add a festive and seasonal touch to living and dining rooms, kitchens, or — of course — your front entryway.

When asked about adorning tables with fall décor, you can see Ms. Aguilera’s mind immediately reel out with an array of possibilities. She says, “Oh, it’s endless. Pumpkins, aspen leaves (We just got Aspen trees in and they’re beautiful!), pinecones, berries. And ribbon. That’s what pulls it all together.” She barely misses a beat before pointing to some birch containers that are ideal for composing an arrangement and then adds enthusiastically, “And we also have birch candles!” The latter, it should be noted, are battery operated and don’t pose a fire hazard, which is especially reassuring in homes with children.

After a career in graphic design and working as a floral designer, Aguilera proved to be an invaluable asset to St. Nick’s. Customers come to her with specific design requests and she invariably exceeds their expectations. Or, for intrepid do-it-yourself hobbyists, she’s happy to point folks in the right direction for items that will help them create their own stellar arrangement. However, she would be the first to say, “Don’t forget the ribbon!” And St. Nick’s has plenty of it. Thousands of yards, in fact.

So, come into the store and meet Susan. She’ll help you create a masterpiece — or left to her own devices, she’ll make something as beautiful and lavish as your own Thanksgiving feast. And, most importantly, she’ll do it with a huge smile and infectious enthusiasm. When asked to choose one of her favorite arrangements, she gestures towards a teardrop-shaped door swag. “This one. I guess this one. Isn’t it just gorgeous?” And, yes, it is. Take a look for yourself; it might be exactly what you’re looking for to impress relatives and neighbors. St. Nick’s makes fall décor effortless — especially when Susan is on hand to help.
