When you think of holiday decorating Christmas is typically the first thing that comes to mind, especially in terms of decorating trees. Trees can be a way to celebrate all holidays not just the one. So instead of putting away your tree at the end of each Christmas season look for new ways to incorporate the greenery into each and every season throughout the year.
This summer, our St. Nicks designers have put a twist on the classic tree in order to celebrate the essence of summer: Fourth of July. To add to the look of summer fun we style a variety of everyday flowers, including sunflowers, as well as more traditional Christmas floral pieces such as cranberries. We use a majority of colorful flowers as well as patterned ribbon. By mixing two ribbons of separate width and patterns we are able to showcase and enhance the beauty of each one. To effectively bring the summer vibes into the decoration of the tree we use a 3″ burlap ribbon complete with daisies so to add to the common flower theme. This ribbon is paired with stars and stripes 2″ ribbon in order to continue with the summer look of the tree, yet not losing the overall Independence Day theme.
Our Fourth of July look pushes the limits of the classic holiday tree because it combines both winter and summer. This unusual way to celebrate the hot months can be elevated with accessories throughout your home, inside or out. We offer a variety of floral arrangements that match perfectly with your tree, this includes: wildflower wreaths done with unconventional statement pieces such as straw hats or even arrangements of wildflowers inside of rain boots. Don’t forget to mix and match your decorations on both the inside and outside of your home.
One of our favorite tricks is to add extra lights within the branches of our trees. Typically on our trees you will see a multitude of lights that are different than the standard lights that come with the tree. For this Independence Day theme (done with our favorite tree to decorate: the Grand Spruce) we include white frosted ball lights on the inside of the branches in order to give the tree more dimension. Whether it is twinkle lights, ball lights, rice lights or even changing lights, adding that extra glimmer brings a fresh look to your tree.
One of our most exciting features at St. Nicks is our Ornamotion Ornament Hangers. These fun hooks are one of our favorite ways to display glass ornaments. It brings life to the tree by creating movement and a beautiful 360 degree view of your favorite ornaments. In this tree we keep the movement simple by displaying our several variations of the Old World hot air balloon ornament because of the beauty and detail that it holds around every angle.
Although it is summer time, that doesn’t mean you need to put away your tree and store your wreaths. There are many different ways to celebrate any holiday just by switching out ribbon and flowers. When it comes to decoration themes, the possibilities are endless, and here at St. Nicks we make sure that your decorations go hand in hand throughout your entire home, inside or out.
